State Fair Finale, Preseason Hoops, and Touring Comedy
Sunny skies and comfortable temperatures make for a great weekend across the metroplex. With the State Fair of Texas entering its final days and a busy schedule of preseason basketball and comedy, there are plenty of options to get out and enjoy the city.
Expect sunny skies and pleasant afternoon highs between 70 and 76 degrees. Early Friday morning provides the best time to be outside with the weekend's coolest low of 51 degrees.
If you only do one thing
State Fair of Texas is at Fair Park in Dallas. The final weekend of this run: State Fair of Texas closes Sunday, Oct 18. The listing puts you in the room at Fair Park. It leads Carlos Mencia on geography: this room is 3.3 miles from you, while Addison Improv is 10 miles out. The strongest one-night alternative in this edition is Dallas Symphony Orchestra Presents Beethoven and Strauss with Daniel Hawkins at Morton Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas; this pick's case against it is that its run ends after this weekend.
Know before you go: Official parking $25/day; online tickets add a $2 fee; adults/seniors $20 (kids $10) after 5pm Fri-Sun; food and ride coupons are $1 each. · Runs rain or shine; coupon sales are final. · Open 10am-10pm Fri-Sat, 10am-9pm Sun-Thu; last entry 9pm; free same-day re-entry with a hand stamp on your way out; bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks (no glass).
